 John N. Kressbach received a B.S. Degree in Forestry from Michigan 
        Technological University. He started his career with Western Electric 
        Co. Inc. where, over the years, he performed a full range of assignments 
        to assure the quality and reliability of telecommunication products 
        purchased for use by the Bell Operating Companies. At the time of the 
        Bell System Divestiture, Kressbach was transferred to Bell 
        Communications Research, Inc., as a member of the Technical Staff, where 
        he designed, developed and applied engineering concepts used in the 
        quality assurance of communications products, primarily treated wood 
        products.  Retiring after over 35 years with the Bell System, Kressbach, acting 
        in a consultant capacity, has been involved in the development and 
        implementation of quality related programs for the manufacture and 
        treatment of utility poles. He is the recipient of the Bellcore Distinguished Member of Technical 
        Staff Award and the American Wood-Preservers� Award of Merit. He has 
        authored/co-authored several papers relating to treated wood products. 
        He is a former President of the American Wood-Preservers� Association 
        (AWPA), and currently is serving on the AWPA's  S-1Glossary 
        Committee and T-4, Poles.  In addition to AWPA he had been an active member of 
        ASTM and ANSI for many years.   |
